Choosing EPDM, GRP or felt
The right covering follows the roof rather than a sales preference. EPDM suits broad, simple roofs where a single sheet can minimise field joints. GRP creates a hard, seamless finish and works well around visible edges and more detailed shapes when the deck is stable and conditions are suitable for installation. Modern felt remains a practical option for awkward forms and tighter budgets.
Whichever surface is chosen, the less visible work matters just as much: the deck must be sound, the falls must lead water to the outlets, insulation must suit the build-up, and upstands and trims need enough height and careful detailing. We inspect those elements before setting out the written specification.
